How to Write the Rainy-Day Mushroom Umbrella Story
Fictional sample essay
It started to rain in the forest. The little rabbit saw a big mushroom beside the path and held it above his head like an umbrella.
First, the rabbit met a chick. The chick’s feathers were wet, so the rabbit said, “Come under my mushroom umbrella.” Then a little ant crawled over with difficulty. The rabbit gently placed a leaf under the mushroom so the ant could stand on it.
After a while, a duckling and a frog came along. The duckling was not afraid of puddles, and the frog liked the rain, but they still walked beside the rabbit to help the chick and the ant. The friends moved slowly toward the big tree.
When the rain stopped, a rainbow appeared in the sky. The chick and the ant thanked the rabbit. The rabbit smiled and said, “Friends should help one another.”
How to write this kind of picture prompt
- Start with the weather: it is raining, so the mushroom can become an umbrella.
- Let the animals appear one by one: rabbit, chick, ant, duckling and frog.
- Give each animal a small action: hide, crawl, walk through puddles or jump.
- End with a simple lesson, such as helping friends.
If the actual picture shows a different order or a different number of animals, follow the picture rather than copying this sequence. Use a few clear verbs—held, crawled, invited, sheltered—to show what happens. Keep the lesson in the characters’ actions instead of repeating “we should help others” after every sentence. This is an original fictional sample, not a real event or a description of a supplied image.
